Context
The climate change and a more digitalized world are going to challenge product focused companies like Kärcher. Within the next decade they have to adapt their business to new customer values to be still able to address new generations of customers. Creating such a fundamental shift can’t be done within one product generation. A strategic long-term vision for the company has to be created in order to be able to change a companies business model over multiple product generations to strive towards that transformation.
The result of this project is a product evolution that exemplifies how a company like Kärcher can shift from a cleaning product producing company into a sharing based cleaning service provider. The next generation of pressure cleaners will be released in 2023 and will offer a more integrated, less cluttered pressure cleaning experience that allows easy accessories storing.
Solution
The next generation products of 2023 can be shared with neighbours and friends and will enable Kärcher to take first steps in the digital world. In 2030 Kärcher will be able to offer a fully sharing-based cleaning service. The products be used by multiple customers and enable a premium cleaning experience.
